I will be starting the South Beach diet in a few days. I want to make sure I have a menu plan before I start so I am not tempted to slip. I see a lot of people are losing around 20-25 lbs in total. I need to lose about 40lbs.

Are there any suggestions on what to do when you are stuck in the 20-25lb range? I know I am kinda ahead of myself here since I have not even started yet but I am sure any tips will help keep me motivated.

You will lose weight but again you have to plan ahead on how you are going to maintain the weight loss. Maintenance is the hardest part. I tried South Beach several years ago and lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I didn't have a maintenance plan that I was going to stick to and so I gained weight back.

I knew that I had an issue with sweets and I love bread. I figured the only way to get started on this is to wean myself. I completely gave up everything but small portions of sweets each day (1 or 2 cookies usually) during the induction phase and still lost 9 lbs. I plan to fully get rid of the sweets but figured this was a great way to start. I recommend the South Beach Diet knowing that some of my favs will be able to be added back in soon.
