I've been reading the reviews of Medifast and thought I would toss in my own thoughts. My wonderful doctor told me I was obese and suggested Medifast. I was reluctant to go on a powdered diet but knew I needed to make changes. With the exception of the bars, which are decent - they are reformulating many of them and I give the new ones mixed reviews - most of the food is in powder form. You mix with water and go from there. You prepare one meal of fresh ingredients a day.
I needed the discipline of portion control and I needed to change behaviors and habits. My coach was helpful & supportive. I saw my doctor regularly to keep track and be sure we didn't go off the rails.
I did not like the food - the powdered eggs were the worst! (LOL) Yet, I loved the results. In about 3 months I dropped 30 pounds. I've kept it off for another 4 months. This is not a plan for everyone, but I would recommend it - just go in knowing that you may want to be selective about which meals you order and you will do well.
My next task is to get my husband ona plan that he will follow through and become healthier.
We have new grandbabies to play with!
Best wishes for your own dieting success.

I'm a 4O year old female with MS who has been on every diet you can think of since a child. Two years ago I had lost 100 lbs on Optifast along with prescribed diet medication and was doing awesome… even joined a Roller Derby team! Sadly I had a Breast Cancer scare, surgery then an MS flair up, stopped skating, stopped dieting, got depressed and gained it all back all in one year's time.

I just started the Medifast plan on 2/26/09, today is day 6 and I have lost 7 lbs. The first day was hard but each day gets a little easer. Incredibly I am not hungry and do not feel the need for diet meds. I also have more energy then I have had in months. I admit I hate the oatmeal but the bars and shakes are great. So far I like this plan better then the last one. The only thing I really miss is cheese, it's my downfall and I ate it every day. My starting weight was 281, size 26-28 and my overall goal is 150 but I hope to be down to 200 by June. For me 200 is a size 18. At that weight at least im active and am not intimated to leave my house. I will check back in then to update you all.

If you would like to contact me post a blurb with your e-mail address and I will contact you.
